Nov 12: Painting Your Astrological Compass with Maya Netzer & Cara Piazza
Painting Your Astrological Compass
When: November 12th
Time: 6:30 - 8:30pm
Where: Calyx Studios - 435 South 5th Street, Brooklyn NY 11211 - Studio #1
Class Description:
Join Cara and Maya for an evening of painting your chart with natural dyes.
In the dark before the dawn of Venus retrograde, we will discuss Venus’s star cycle through the underworld; locate the past, present, and shape of the future in our personal birth charts; and paint our personal birth charts to alchemize and bring coherence to our own personal underworld journeys.
Maya will cast your natal & transit charts in advance. Guests will receive a watercolor template of her Herbal Zodiacal Wheel, and a short report from which to base our paintings.
Cara will run you through creating natural paints, and provide natural dyes as a medium for you to paint your birth chart. Once you purchase your ticket, we will contact you for your birth chart information to paint.
Takeaways
- A hand painted birth chart with the herbal correspondences of your sign, in the natural dyes of your choice
- A short report from Maya on your natal chart angles and selected transits.
Your Teacher:

Through workshops, 1:1 consulting, events, and educational experiences, Maya offers a guiding light for others to experience greater clarity, self-trust, and alignment in life and work.
The Fifth Room
This workshop is a part of The Fifth Room workshop series co - created by Krystal Frame of Sustain Frame and Cara bringing together instructors, artists, and community to explore transforming grief through ritual and craft-based practices.
Drawing on John Coltrane's The Coltrane Circle, the mathematics of jazz, and Five Element theory, the series explores the alchemical theme of Solve et Coagula — to dissolve and reform. We believe grief works in a spiral, leading us through transformation but never quite back to the place where we started.
